COP23 Side Event
With reference to the "Verkehrswende" - the decarbonisation of transport in Germany - the "Low-carbon Transport: G20 on track?" event presented an analysis of the level of ambition regarding CO2 mitigation of G20 countries in the transport sector. It started with pointing out highlights of a recent analysis of transport in NDCs, presented key drivers for transport sector performance and illustrated existing low-carbon targets, strategies and policies in the transport sector in G20 countries. The discussion put this into perspective of the Paris Agreement and reflected what the current status means for NDC implementation and revision in the transport sector.
